This is a small and very simple campground. It is mostly geared towards RVs but they do allow tent camping as well. All of the designated sites are close together with no natural privacy/barriers between them. The bathhouse was built in 2017 and is great! The campground is situated right next to a NC Wildlife Resources Commission boat ramp.

The campground has primitive and rv hook ups to power and water. A fishing ramp to launch a boat and fish. Showers, Picinic tables. There are even year round residents. Awesome shady lots, very tranquil and relaxing.

Nice spot very clean and, improving.

I stayed at this simple campground with my husband at in early December. There were around a dozen campsites, with electricity, water, and sewer. Rates were paid in a self-pay box at the entrance of the campground. (Rates were $5/day, $7 if you use AC or heat) The town of Windsor is a charming little town, so we enjoyed being able to stay right in the midst of it. The other campers there, many looked to be quite permanent, were very friendly and quiet. The road to the campground was paved and then turned to dirt just before the entrance, however it was very easily accessed. We just showed up one day and got a site, but I'm told you can call to make a reservation. We'd definitely come back to stay here when visiting Windsor again. Check out the rest of the park while you're here (complete with mini-zoo!).
